WYRE Forest residents were treated to their "own personal air show" when a host of military aircraft circled the skies.

People spotted two Typhoon Eurofighters and a Chinook helicopter flying low in the skies near Stourport, Bewdley and Cleobury Mortimer, delighting those below on Wednesday afternoon (May 15).

Photographer Nick Goodwin, from Bagginswood, shared some images of the air display on the Kinlet 2020 Facebook page.

He took the photos as they came into the area at around 1.24pm. They were seen between Kinlet and Clee Hills for about an hour.

They also came back later that afternoon for a short time around 4.45pm.

Mr Goodwin said: "It felt like we had our own personal air show.

"Obviously people in the area found it really exciting. It was really good - they were directly over my head.

"It was a lot of noise for quite some time".

People have shared their excited reactions to seeing the air display on Facebook.

Steve Price said: "I was watching two typhoons flying over Stourport yesterday it made my day."

Elaine Bowen Meredith described it as a "brilliant show."

Sam Harper said: "Witnessed in Cleobury, truly magnificent."

Timothy Jones said it was "fantastic."

According to the RAF website, the Chinook is an "extremely capable and highly versatile support helicopter that can be operated from land bases or ships in a range of diverse environments, from the Arctic to the desert or jungle".

The Eurofighter is an "extremely agile multi-role combat aircraft, capable of being deployed for the full spectrum of air operations, including air policing, peace support and high-intensity conflict".
