The new mayor of Bewdley has officially been appointed for the coming year. 

At the annual Bewdley Town Council meeting on Monday, May 13, the town elected its new mayor, councillor Ian Latimer JP, who will be supported by his daughter Cat Banks as his mayoress. 

Councillor Nicole Harper was also elected as deputy mayor for the coming year.

In his new role as mayor, councillor Latimer is looking forward to representing and supporting the town in a wide variety of functions across the region including charity, community and formal events. 

He has chosen to support the local Scouts and Guides, KEMP Hospice and Bewdley Dementia Group as his chosen organisations as they all do wonderful work within the community.

The new mayor of Bewdley said: "I am honoured to be elected as Mayor and The First Citizen of Bewdley. It is my aim to have an exciting year and put Bewdley firmly on the map."

Bewdley Town Council said he is also looking forward to an interesting and fun year.
