Over 350 year six school pupils took part in a police-organised tag rugby tournament.

Last Wednesday, Wyre Forest Police hosted their annual event at Wolverley FC's Mill Lane ground, attended by 23 schools in the area.

The day was organised by youth engagement officer PC Neil Sharpe and police community support officer Simon Gallagher, with assistance from their team and the Wyre Forest Safer Neighbourhood Team.

PC Sharpe said: "Tag rugby is huge fun, helps children develop a lifelong love of exercise, and teaches them about teamwork and socialising.

"Our event is also an opportunity for the police to interact with young people in a fun and friendly environment.

"It was a huge success, and we thank everyone that helped arrange the day and the schools for coming along."

The trophy was awarded to the Chaddesley Corbett Endowed Primary School, who came out narrow winners of the tournament, and was presented by North Worcestershire’s Superintendent Paley.
