A CONTROVERSIAL bid to build 62 homes on an Astley Cross field is due to be decided.

Bovis Homes wants to build between Pearl Lane, Areley Common and Malvern Edge Court and a decision is being made by Malvern Hill District Council's 16-member northern area development management committee at a meeting next Wednesday, with officers recommending approval.

Wyre Forest District Council, Stourport Town Council and Astley and Dunley Parish Council have all urged Malvern Hills to reject the application, as have about 150 residents, citing infrastructure, traffic and flooding concerns.
