THREE hundred schoolchildren helped to raise more than £1,000 for a charity supporting a Cleobury Mortimer boy born with half a heart.
Pupils at Kinlet CofE Primary, Far Forest Lea Memorial CofE Primary and Lacon Childe Schools, raised £1301.77 for Little Hearts Matter, by collecting 20ps in a Smarties tube in exchange for doing good deeds for their parents.
The challenge was set up by Rachel Robinson, whose son Samuel Robinson, seven, goes to Kinlet CofE Primary school.
Samuel had his first open heart surgery when he was just three days old and has since had three other major operations and may eventually need a full heart transplant.
