KNITTED chicks containing Easter surprises have been sold to help raise money for a cancer charity.

Wyre Forest group Knit and Natter have made the chicks, which were then filled with Cadbury’s Creme Eggs and sold for £1 to collect funds for Cancer Research UK.

Children and staff at St John’s Primary School, Blakebrook, raised about £400 as youngsters picked out their Easter chicks to take home.

Helen Howard, school administrator, said: “The children love choosing their chick, it gets everyone in the mood for Easter.”
