TWO teams of students working towards a competitive event will challenge their business and culinary skills tomorrow at 11am outside Bewdley Guildhall.

The companies Basilico and U Wanna Pizza Me will test their newly-acquired skills to raise the most profit to go to a local charity.

Sixteen children from four primary schools in and around Bewdley have learned about pizza making, marketing, packaging design, product analysis, costing and promotion.

All the sessions have been attended by Simon Tapp, head St Anne’s Primary School, teachers, teaching assistants and St Anne’s governer, Cathy Smith.

Both teams have met one day per half-term and had expert demonstrations and tuition from Pomodoro, an Italian restaurant in Bewdley. The Stove Barn will also be providing two wood-fuelled pizza ovens.

Mr Tapp said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for all four schools and students working together to showcase team-building and involvement in their local town."

The project has been supported by The Bewdley School and Sixth Form Centre, Bewdley Development Trust, Pomodoro Restaurant and The Stove Barn.
