YEAR 11 pupils at Baxter College rounded off their year in style by rolling up to their end-of-year prom in a variety of vehicles.

The vehicles ranged from a collection of vintage cars to a tractor, mods on bikes and even a double-decker bus.

Held at Spring Hill Grove in West Midland Safari Park, the school laid out the red carpet treatment to its students, who were treated to a three-course meal, an evening dance and a firework display that spelled out the school’s name in fire.

The most popular event of the evening for the students and staff, however, was a free photo booth, where everyone took part in donning fancy dress for the cameras.

The prom was a celebration of the students’ five years at the college and a chance for everyone to unwind after weeks of exams before many return and move on to sixth form.

Paula Taylor, head of year 11, said: “It was a lovely evening and a great way for everyone to celebrate the students’ time at Baxter.

“The students’ arrivals were as inventive as ever and I am sure the night will dwell long in the memory."

David Seddon, headteacher, said: “It was great to see so many smiling faces. Everyone had a brilliant evening."
