BOOK vouchers have been awarded to pupils at four local schools by the Rotary Club of Kidderminster.

The prizes were given to children who made an outstanding effort during the school year, rather than specifically for academic achievement, and winners were selected by class teachers.

Cookley Sebright Primary School took part in the scheme, with six of its students, one from each year, receiving their vouchers from the rotary club’s new president Ray Mace.

Martin de Vine, headteacher at Cookley Sebright School, said: “We really appreciate the involvement of the Rotary Club of Kidderminster in the life of the school and its support has enabled us to reward children who may not have achieved top marks but have put in an outstanding effort during the year.”
