A KIDDERMINSTER dance group will perform a new piece at the town’s arts festival.

Translucent Youth Dance Company will showcase Love, Honour, Sacrifice, which has been choreographed by dance tutor Anna Lines, on Tuesday, August 19 from 7.30pm to 8.15pm at Kidderminster College.

She said: “This new work reflects the many commemorations being held this year to mark 100 years since the outbreak of World War One.

“It focuses on the strength of mankind when placed under extreme conditions.

“In an attempt to explore what life is like at home and on the frontline this timeless piece reflects the daily struggle and anguish experienced by many throughout generations upon generations of war.

“Most of all, the piece depicts love, strength and togetherness, as people turn to each other in times of great need.”

The dance group, which is based at Kidderminster College, will also perform In Transit, a work by Wyre Forest based contemporary choreographer Kimberley Clarke.

In Transit explores the reactions of three individuals when they are facing suffering.

Tickets to the show can be purchased from wyreforest.gov.uk/bookings.

Translucent Youth Dance Company are also holding auditions at Kidderminster College on Wednesday, August 20 for new members aged 11 to 19. For more details contact translucentdancecompany@gmail.com
