The French Connection

Posted on 9:30am Friday 1st May 2009

Picture the scene, you arrive at Calais in good time to catch your scheduled cross-channel ferry or channel tunnel train, which will be taking you back to the UK. You could be on a business trip, a long-haul lorry driver or even a pleasure seeking visitor. While you wait for your ferry or train to arrive, you are thinking about the squalid squatter camp you noticed earlier, on your way to the port. A squatter camp which is home to numerous illegal immigrants.

THE WAY AHEAD

Posted on 9:31am Thursday 30th April 2009

The nations sigh was palpable. There were two voices, though you could not detect the difference in the sound. Darling finished his budget speech and part of the nation, particularly the wealthier and those involved in the financial market sighed gratefully at their escape from retribution,. A Special Place, the project was created from a deep scar left in the earth by a worked out clay mine. What an impressive leap of someone's imagination it was, to transform something so ugly, into such a haven of peace and tranquility.

Posted on 11:00am Friday 24th April 2009

YOU may have seen Georgia’s photo in the tabloids. Weighing 33 stone at just 15, she has the dubious honour of being one of Britain’s largest teenagers.

Pubs and their shameful discrimination.

Posted on 10:46am Wednesday 22nd April 2009

I just read a letter regarding the watermill and there poor treatment of their customers in the letter section. Recently me and partner stopped were in Bewdley on a bank holiday Monday and we stopped in at the George Hotel, as we have done many times before, usually every week or so. There was a bouncer on the door and we were turned down because my partner was wearing a beanie hat, which he is always wearing and never takes off for anyone. The ironic thing was the bouncer that turned us away was wearing the exact same hat.
