SKY HIGH!

No I'm not talking about Felix the Skydiver who leapt from his capsule and plunged to earth breaking the sound barrier last week.
I'm talking about the other news this week that has dominated  the media.The Energy Companies one by one are raising their prices again....some as much as 8%. Unlike Felix they never seem to fall again!

This time last year when prices began to rise way above inflation we were promised that something would be done to halt this annual hike. "It has to stop" they protested. Well guess what? Here we are a year later facing another winter of escalating energy bills or alternatively cold homes.

 

What to do?.....Can anything be done?.......Well yes is the answer.

Next week commencing Monday 22nd October sees the launch of BIG ENERGY SAVING WEEK a national campaign organised by Citizens Advice. Over 400 Citizens Advice Bureaux up and down the country are taking part. Here in the Wyre Forest we are fully backing and involved in this national campaign.

There are many small ways of keeping energy bills from going through the roof. For instance, did you know that the average home in the UK last year wasted £280 by not being energy efficient?

We can do something about this!

The Wyre Forest District Council have a pot of money waiting to be used for this very purpose. If you don't have loft insulation or your existing loft insulation is not up to today's standards then you can have new loft insulation installed FREE of CHARGE. Yes believe me it's FREE. As we lose 25% of our heat through the roof this must be a great investment especially as it won't cost us anything and the work will be carried out by professionals.
Also free of charge they will fit draught excluders to keep us warm and snug this winter.
