I am a 63 year old Yorkshireman. Like all Yorkshiremen I am told I have a certain amount of Northern grit although, as I have no idea what that means, it is difficult for me to comment!
I worked for a large multi-national in sales for over 40 years and took early retirement two years ago
I have been married for over 35 years. How any woman could put up with me for all that time is a complete mystery. I may put her up for a medal!
I have two children and two grandchildren, the latter of which seem to take up an increasing amount of my time.
We moved to Kidderminster in 1972 with my job so after all that time I believe I am allowed to have opinions on the area!
I love the town and great countryside and feel privileged to live here.
However there are some things that annoy me as you may find out...

A PRICKLY PROBLEM
I have seen a story in this weeks Shuttle of a woman moaning (well there's a first!) that the council have not rushed round to her local alleyway to clear the nettles etc that are a nuisance to her. What planet do these people live on?

WORK--or no work?
On the way to Halesowen this morning I had to pass through the disgraceful roadworks on the A456 between Kiddy and Blakedown.

SOME GOOD NEWS
The big question in 2007 was would the smoking ban make any diference or was this another pointless action of the nanny state. After 3 years the results are starting to arrive and they make interesting reading.

Big Boys Miss Out
A strange thing has happened to me. I have decided who I am going to vote for at the election in a few weeks time. I would not have done this so early under normal circumstances but these are not normal circumstances.

Will They Never Understand?
After all this fuss about MP,s expenses claims they still do not understand what it is all about. Just how thick are these grasping gits? In the latest answer to their greedy claims two of these bods are still saying they have done nothing wrong because what they did was just about within the rules.

NEWSPAPERS ERROR
Why do newspapers, and indeed anyone else in the media, insist on refering to the disgraced banker Fred Goodwin as Sir? Calling him Sir infers that he is better than other people. Well he is a lot better at getting other peoples tax money but this should not be the criterion.

PAID TO BE BAD
The revelation that prisoners the government has let out on early release are being given our tax money for B&B etc to make up for the loss of free board and lodging confirms what I have been thinking for some time. The world has gone bonkers!
