A STORYTELLER will visit Bewdley in a quest to collect and share stories of communities making positive changes to tackle climate change and peak oil production.

Stephanie Bradley will be performing as Wynn Alice when she visits Uncylls Farm on Monday, July 26.

The Transition Tales evening is being hosted by Worcestershire County Council together with Transition Bewdley.

Visitors can join Stephanie as she walks around the farm and into the Wyre Forest telling and collecting tales.

After a supper of local food in the solar powered arts barn, Wynn Alice will encourage everyone to take part in her interactive community game called,The Quest. The event will be recorded and videoed and local storytellers will retell the stories back to the assembled company.

On the following day at Bishops Wood Centre, Stephanie will run a workshop on taking transition tales into schools.

The event is for teachers, local transition groups and others interested in working with schools on collecting stories of change from other generations in their communities.

John Rhymer, head of the centre, said: "Stephanie will be travelling throughout England on her storytelling and story-collecting pilgrimage and we are delighted she has chosen to come to Worcestershire to hear our tales and include us in this very traditional oral practice."

The Transition Tales evening starts at 6.30 pm and further details are available by contacting Wyre Community Land Trust, on 01299 488083 or by emailing bookings@wyreclt.org.uk People can book places on the workshop by contacting Mr Rhymer on 01299 250513.
