AS well as the high-profile national acts, two Bewdley-themed events will be taking place during the festival.

Stephen Price will host a talk about Bewdley Museum, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.

Stephen was appointed curator in May 1972 and with the help ofthe Friends ofthe Museum, it was opened in July 1972.

In those early days the front section, which is now the Tourist Information Centre, presented the story of Bewdley and the Shambles, which was built originally in 1784 to house the town’s butchers.

The independent museum was a great success, even enticing Princess Alexandra tomake an unscheduled tour when she visited the town for the Charter celebrations.

After building a career in Birmingham, Dorset and Bristol, Stephen will be returning to Bewdley to share his research into Bewdley’s farmhouses and town buildings that he has been completing since his retirement.

The talk will take place on Wednesday, October 10 at Bewdley Baptist Church at 10.30am.

Computer expert, Tony McDowell, is a long-time resident of Bewdley and a former Director of Bewdley Festival.

His festival slot will give people an insight into computer hacking due to the skills learnt by Tony in his latest computer business which specialises in ethical hacking and digital forensics.

His latest business venture, Encription Limited, has offices in Kidderminster and Ireland.
