AN ever-popular toe-tapping musical spectacular will be presented by Kidderminster Operatic & Dramatic Society next week.
Set in Oregon in 1850, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, is the story of Adam, the eldest of seven brothers, who goes to town to find a wife. He meets Milly and convinces her to marry him that same day.
The couple return to Adam's home where Milly discovers he has six brothers living in his cabin, who are all anxious to get wives of their own.
After reading about the Roman capture of the Sabine women, Adam develops an inspired solution to his brother's loneliness - to kidnap the women they want.
Featuring classic foot-tapping tunes including Bless Your Beautiful Hide, Wonderful, Wonderful Day and Goin' Courtin', this light-hearted musical is ideal for all ages.
The dazzling dance routines are choreographed by Denise Churchett, a former professional dancer who first choreographed for the society in 1992.
Milly will be played by Kathryn Knight, in what will be her first leading role for the society, while Darren Richards will take to the stage as Adam.
The strong cast of experienced and new young members of the society has sold out shows for the past two years and people are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
The show willrun at the Rose Theatre, Chester Road North, from Thursday next week until the following Saturday.
There will be a matinee on Saturday, March 15 at 2.30pm.
Tickets are available for the musical, which starts at 7.30pm, from the box office, on 01562 743745.
