Musician hopes for Rich pickings for charity event

ACOUSTIC musician, King Rich, will take to the mic in his first charity bash of the year to raise cash for the Children with Leukaemia appeal.

The talented performer has raised more than £1,000 in charity events over the past three years and has supported the Levellers and Robert Plant at events in Stourbridge and Kidderminster.

Also on the bill for Monday night's gig are Joe Savage, Becca, The Backs and Seven Days.

King Rich said: "It pleases me greatly that the events have kept ticking and tallying decent cash totals for the previous respective charities.

"There have been some great performances from the local musicians I've put on the bill in the past and it's a great local effort in general."

The 28-year-old, who was a former runner up in a songwriting competition, said he hoped there would be a "healthy" attendance at the charity night, which will be held at Kidderminster Library.

He added: "It's an event worth supporting as not only may you hear a great underground performer but each event is consistently raising valuable cash for important charities."

King Rich has appeared on Sky's Red TV where he performed three of his own tracks, including Hang On My Sweetheart and U Don't Understand My Heart Anymore.

All four King Rich mini albums plus merchandise will be available on the night, with 20 per cent of the profits going to the Children with Leukaemia appeal, a charity dedicated to fighting the disease.

Tickets are available from the venue or on the door on the night.
