TWO Wyre Forest musicians have reunited after 25 years to play together in local Who tribute band The Whoo.

Nick McCarthy (guitar) and Ian Wilson (drums) first played together in 1979, in Kidderminster rock outfit, Rough Justice.

The band split after a few years and both Ian and Nick went their separate ways with different musical projects.

When Mr McCarthy and Mark Pearsall (vocals) started the Whoo project last year, they recruited Mr Wilson.

The band, who have based their shows on The Who's recent live concerts, are set to play a set of the Who's greatest hits at Riverside R n' B club, in Stourport, on Wednesday, May 23.

Also playing in the band are Rob Allen on keyboards and Pav Tsouvallaris on bass.

Mr McCarthy said: "Getting the right musicians for this band was all important.

"The Who are all strong musicians and personalities and we needed to ensure the members all had the right attitude for the job."

He added: "Having played with Ian before I knew he was right for this project."

Tickets for the event are available from the club. Further information can be obtained by logging onto www.thewhoo.co.uk
