RESIDENTS can join the royal buzz in Kidderminster’s Brinton Park next weekend to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Wyre Forest District Council has organised a ‘Right Royal Do’ on Sunday, June 12, between 2pm and 8pm, and residents and visitors are invited to enjoy an array of free entertainment.

The park will come to life with live music from Soul and Motown, Rattlesnake Jake, solo artist Sadie Owen and the Show Time Singers.

Visitors are encouraged to bring along deck chairs, picnics and flags.

Local dignitaries and community groups will be attending the event, and there will be a small service and parade at 1.45pm.

A variety of food, drink and craft related stalls on offer, as well as mini fun-fair with childrens rides and face painting.

BBC Hereford and Worcester will also be at the event talking to the crowd and seeing if anyone shares a birthday with Her Majesty.

Councillor Sally Chambers, cabinet member for health, well-being and housing, said: “We are excited to be hosting this fantastic free event to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday this summer and hope that the local community will join us and come together to mark this special event.”
