STOURPORT'S Civic Centre will act as a Pop-Up Cinema this weekend as it shows one of Disney's latest movie hits.

The Stourport venue, in conjunction with ECE Cinema, will be showing this year's smash-hit the Jungle Book on Friday (July 8).

After a threat from the tiger, Shere Khan, forces him to flee the jungle, a man-cub named Mowgli embarks on a journey of self-discovery with the help of panther, Bagheera, and a free spirited bear, named Baloo.

A star-studded cast, including Bill Murray, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley and Scarlett Johansson, helps bring the much-loved characters of this timeless tale to life.

Kevin Wrench, Civic committee member, said: "It is the first even of this kind that we have held at the Civic and we are very hopeful that it will prove very popular.

"ECE Cinema are showing various films over the next few weeks at a few local venues including Areley Kings Village Hall and the Kidderminster Town Hall.

"And, they will be back at the Civic again on Friday, August 5, with Zootropolis."

For the Jungle Book tomorrow (July 8) doors open at 5.30pm, with the movie starting at 6pm.

Advanced tickets are £5 for adults - £6 on the door - and £4 for under 16's, and can be purchased from thecivicstourport.co.uk.
