A POPULAR Kidderminster choir will be in fine voice to support another charity at its spring concert this weekend.
Members of Kidderminster Male Choir are looking to raise money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society at Kidderminster Town Hall on Saturday, April 1 from 7.30pm.
Nigel Wolfenden, publicity officer for KMC, a charity itself, said they are always keen to support work in the local community and many members are of an age where the fear of losing memory and ability to learn is close to home.
The choir’s members have to learn all the music and words by heart as, unlike many other choirs, they sing completely from memory.
In addition to the choir’s performance, local soprano Hannah McFarland will be adding to the sparkle of the evening with some well-known songs from musical theatre.
Mr Wolfenden said: “Our lads are really up for this one and are looking forward to making many new friends through this contact with a charity close to our hearts.”
A spokesman for the Alzheimer's Society, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to support our work and have a great night out listening to a fantastic local choir which has a reputation for entertaining its audiences.
Tickets for the event cost £12 and can be obtained through the KMC website – Kidderminstermalechoir.co.uk, by telephone on 01562 827936, or from the Kidderminster Town Hall Booking Office on 01562 732158
