FANS of the racing legend Sir Anthony Peter McCoy OBE will get a rare opportunity to meet the sporting star at a Bewdley hotel next week.

Mercure Kidderminster Hotel, in Habberley Road, in partnership with Kong Events, will welcome AP McCoy on Thursday, May 18.

Fans will experience a rare opportunity to not only meet and greet AP, but also get involved in a 45 minute question and answer interview with the sporting legend.

The Irish former horse racing jockey has dominated the sport for more than two decades, making him one of the UK's highest profile sporting talents.

Sir Anthony - more commonly known as AP - is the only sportsman of his kind to have been awarded BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2010, to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at SPOTY in 2015 and BT's Outstanding Contribution to Sport Award.

AP is a true champion and an icon of sport - whose achievements over the last 20 years are unlikely to be surpassed.

Tracy Phillips, sales manager at the hotel, said: "We are really looking forward to welcoming AP McCoy to the hotel next week - this is the first time he has visited."

Sir AP McCoy is looking forward to an evening of meeting fans and giving his personal answers to their questions.

Ticket prices include a one course meal and the evening will end with a live auction.

Ticket holders can choose from slow cooked brisket of beef, local ale, caramelised onion gravy, seasonal vegetables and potatoes, or roast Mediterranean vegetables and goats cheese wellington with basil cream.

To book your tickets - which cost £45, plus a booking fee - call the Mercure Kidderminster Hotel on 01299 406406, or visit mercurekidderminster.co.uk/an-evening-with-ap-mccoy.html.
