KIDDERMINSTER Town Hall will be transported back to the 1920s through a night of charity boxing and live music.

Peaky Fighters will see a number of fighters trading blows but all for a good cause as they look to raise as much money as possible for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The event will be held at Kidderminster Town Hall on Saturday, May 12, from 4pm until around 11pm and tickets went on sale earlier this week.

With the theme based on the popular TV series Peaky Blinders, people are being urged to dress up in 1920s clothes, with prizes for the best outfits on the night.

The live music on the night will be provided by duo The Peaky Blonders while there will also be food, a full bar and an after party.

The event has been organised by the Worcester Charity Boxing Association (WCBA) and will follow similar events being held in Worcester in March which have proved a sell-out success already.

Tom Whitby, from the WCBA, said: “We have had an amazing response to our Worcester event so we are delighted to be putting this on at Kidderminster Town Hall.

“We are proudly raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital so we’re encouraging people to get dressed up 1920s style and enjoy a night of exhilarating boxing.”

Although he is a boxer himself, Tom said his duties for this event were just organising it.

Michael Mikolajczyk, who runs Mikey’s Boxing Gym in Kidderminster, will be training all the fighters who take part on the night.

He added: “This is going to be a great event and I’m looking forward to training the boxers for it.

“They are doing it for a great charity and this is a different sort of event than what is usually held at Kidderminster Town Hall so it will be brilliant fun.”
