'Hidden' Crossway Green grounds revealed

VISITORS will have the chance to see the ‘hidden’ grounds of a Crossway Green woodland.

Bishops Wood Centre is not normally open to the public but on Sunday visitors are invited to parts of the grounds that are not often seen.

The 70-acre site includes a 40-acre bluebell woodland and visitors can hear tales and folklore of bluebell fairies and how to help preserve the English flower.

Head of centre, John Rhymer, said: “The woodland is stunning at this time of year with snow white wood anemones followed by a profusion of bluebells.

Visitors will also learn how our ancestors used bluebells for everyday purposes.”
