A DOUBLE platinum selling singer-songwriter will be performing in Kidderminster as part of his UK tour later next month.

Kieran Goss will be playing at the Kidderminster Town Hall on Thursday, September 25, from 7.30pm until 10.30pm.

Born and raised in County Down, Northern Ireland, he has been described as one of Ireland’s leading songwriters and performers with his music winning him fans from across the globe.

Picking up his first guitar at nine, Kieran looked up to his idols of Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson.

After completing his university studies in Northern Ireland, Kieran worked as a street musician in Germany, France and New York and as a songwriter for other musicians.

He recorded his first album, Brand New Star, in 1989, which included the songs Brand New Star and Just Around The Corner.

The hits came to the attention of Mary Black as she was preparing the album Babes in the Wood and she recorded both songs.

His albums have gained major success in his home country with two of his albums reaching platinum and one of which also reached number 1 in the UK charts.

Kieran has performed all over Europe, with his records selling well in Germany and Holland and as a writer his songs have been recorded by people such as Mary Black, Christy Moore and Frances Black.

He takes to the Kidderminster stage as part of the 15-date Kieran Goss Live and Solo UK tour before moving the tour onto Germany, Holland and Austria.
