A MUSIC event in Wyre Forest hopes to strike the right chord and attract thousands of visitors.

Worleys Guitar Show will take place at the Stourport Civic Centre on Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12 from 10am to 5.30pm and feature product exhibitions from leading string companies and live performances by local rock bands.

There will also be free guitar, ukulele and African drumming workshops for children and adults, with sessions designed for both complete beginners and more advanced players.

Mat Worley, owner of the Worley Strings and Things shop in Stourport, who organised the event, said: “The main selling point is that the show is completely free to the public on both days.

“We have most of the big names in the music industry – including the top string, guitar and amplification companies - attending with all sorts of fabulous deals and promotions.

“After the success of our first show last year, which attracted just over 2,000 people over the two days, we see it becoming an annual event.

“There will be the same friendly atmosphere as the 2013 event and we welcome members of the public to come along and join in the festivities.”

Music brands such as Hofner, Vintage and Hughes and Kettner will be present at the show and three top-end acoustic and electric guitars will be up-for-grabs in a raffle.

Six live bands including Vault of Eagles and The Apollogees will perform each day while Gordon Giltrap will deliver a masterclass on acoustic playing.

Refreshments will also be available from the pig roast stall and a real ale bar.
