HEADS South, a Latin jazz quintet, is to play at Clows Top Victory Hall this month.

The five-piece jazz band combine cool laid back rhythms with a cha-cha vibe in an evening of new tunes and arrangements of loved standards such as Mack the Knife and Guantanamera.

Heads South features top UK jazz trumpeter Steve Waterman, Cuban percussionist Chino Martell Morgan on congas, bongos, cajon and guiro, John Harriman on piano and organ, Buster Burch on drums, timbale, castanets, frame drum, and Venezuelan bassplayer Adolfredo Pulido.

The band is joint winner of the 2014/2015 Jazz Services National Rural Touring Award. The band recently released its second album, On The Way, to great accalaim.

The event takes place at the hall on Saturday, January 31, starting at 8pm. A licensed open bar and food will be served from 7.15pm.

Standard tickets are £10 or £12 with a light supper.

Tickets are available from Mandy on 01299 832456, the Box Office on 07788 604542, or Brian the Butchers or Clows Top Post Office.
