THE orchestral season in the Wyre Forest will be closing with a special Independence Day performance at Kidderminster Town Hall.

On Saturday, July 4, Wyre Forest Symphony Orchestra both mourns the loss of the American colonies but celebrates their Independence Day by grabbing the opportunity to play Dvorak’s Symphony No9 – From The New World as a tribute to the good old US of A.

One of the most popular symphonies, the principal players in the orchestra will go out on the 2014/201 season with a bang and give them a chance to shine in standout solos.

The concert will also see young mezzo-soprano Suzie Purkis join the musicians in her first contribution in the Habanera from Bizet's opera Carmen.

Tickets are on sale at the town hall by calling the Box Office on 01562 732158 and on the door on the night of the concert. They are priced between £5 and £10 and accompanied children are admitted free to the hall downstairs.
