"PROBABLY the best indie band in Kidderminster" The Stirs will be headlining a Worcestershire music festival this weekend.

Red Man Festival is know in Kidderminster for showcasing some of the best talent in the Wyre Forest at its host pub, The Red Man, in Blackwell Street.

But unlike other years, this year, The Stirs, who are the self-confessed "best indie band in Kidderminster" will be headlining the first night of music on Saturday (July 25).

Playing alongside the Jack Fletcher Band, Aztec Temples, and Ryan Jarvis, The Stirs said playing in their hometown of Kidderminster was always a good show.

The band said: "This is a Stirs local gig and it's going to be a mad one."

The indie rock band have only been together since May 2014, but taking influences from The Libertines, The Jam and The Clash, their unique sound has catapulted them into people's ears.

They have been aired on BBC Introducing, who sent their music to BBC Radio 1 and 2, they were the featured band for XFMs This Feeling club night, and they were recently asked to support The Reverend and the Makers at their Birmingham show.

The band's debut single, Summertime, is available now on iTunes.

The second day of Red Man Festival, which is free for all and organised by JM Music Promotions and Management, on Sunday (July 26), will see Regale headline the pub stage.

Music will start at 2pm and go on until late.
