THE Bewdley Concert Band, with guests the Kidderminster Valentines, are to present a charity Music Extravaganza next weekend.

The concert will take place at Kidderminster Town Hall, on Saturday, October 22, from 7.30pm, and will raise money for the cancer charity, Bloodwise.

It will feature special guests, the Kidderminster Valentines, who will be performing with Bewdley Concert Band for the first time.

The evening of popular music from the band and choir will conclude with a rousing proms finale dedicated to Queen Elizabeth, in her 90th year.

Ian Worton, Bewdley Concert Band's musical director, said: "We are delighted to be able to present Bewdley Concert Band at the Kidderminster Town Hall, after enjoying performing at the Symphony Hall in 2015.

"The band love performing in Bewdley and support as many local events as possible, an opportunity to bring our music to the Kidderminster Town Hall and to perform with the Kidderminster Valentines is a real treat."

The concert is in aid of Bloodwise which provides funding for research and patient support 137 blood cancers. There will also be a cheque presentation during the evening, with money raised from last year's Bewdley Mayor, Councillor Calne Edginton-White, during her mayoral year.

Bloodwise is hoping to set up a local fundraising group and hope this concert will raise the charity's profile in the district.
