AFTER taking a break for almost a year, Live Local returns to Stourport Civic Centre for a one-off free entry special.

The Live Local event will take place at the Civic on Friday (November 4) from 8pm, with Two Faced Tom and the Bootleg Boys returning to perform, joined by event organiser Kevin Wrench's band, Dharma Bums.

Two Faced Tom and the Bootleg Boys play an up-tempo mixture of Bluegrass, country, rockabilly and blues, and are guaranteed to get audiences up dancing.

Dharma Bums, who formed last November, play a mixture of blues, rockabilly, folk and soul. They have played a number of events since they started gigging in May, including several in conjunction with Kidderminster Arts Festival.

A spokesman said: "We had some fantastic nights last year and learned a lot of running this event.

"We also tapped into the immense amount of local talent as we sought to promote specifically local musicians in our 400 capacity volunteer-run venue.

"Live Local ran from January till November last year and always attempted to promote a wide variety of musical genres in order to cater for as many people as possible.

"Event organiser and local musician, Kevin Wrench, has now joined our group of volunteers and is also a member of the management committee. He feels that the time is right to give the event another try; but this time we are offering free entry."

Doors open at 8pm and music starts at 8.30pm.
