BIRMINGHAM's Katy Rose Bennett Band will headline November's Music in the Hall event in Bewdley.

Katy's latest album, "Songs of the River Rea" has been acclaimed since its release earlier this year. The album centres on the River Rea that runs through Birmingham.

It has been crafted boldly, full of varied arrangements from the Gracelandish pop of "One Day" to the sparse, emotional "One More Time" to the lilting, Americana-tinged folk of "Jack and Ivy".

In Katy's words, "the album is about growing up, learning how to be in my own skin and looking out at the place where I live; in the middle of a city but surrounded by green space and nature along the River Rea."

Katy Rose Bennett is on guitar and vocals, and her band is also made up of Lydia Glanville on percussion, Laura Mattison on violin, flute and vocals, and Samantha Fox on vocals.

The Music in the Hall event will take place at St George's Hall, in Bewdley, on Friday (November 4), with doors opening at 7.30pm.

The evening will be opened by Charley Wilde and the main support will be from Bewdley's own Son of John.

Tickets for the event are £8 and are available from St George's Hall cafe or online at thehall-bewdley.org.uk.
