ONE of the country's top cathedral choirs will be visiting Kidderminster next weekend.
Worcester Cathedral Choir will be singing at St Mary and All Saints' Church on Saturday, January 28.
They will begin with choral evensong at 4pm, followed by a free recital at 5pm entitled "Christmas to Candlemas".
St Mary's, which is Kidderminster's only Grade One listed building and the largest parish church in Worcestershire, was badly affected in 2015 when lead was stolen from the roof causing upwards of £50,000 of damage to the organ and the north wall.
James Bradley, the organist and director of music at St Mary's, said: "It is such a wonderful opportunity to have a choir of the quality of Worcester Cathedral Choir sing in the beautiful setting of St Mary's.
"We are so grateful to them for agreeing to come and sing and, at the same time, help us raise badly needed funds for the church."
The recital is free with a retiring collection.
