A GROUP of sea shanty singers will be performing in Cleobury Mortimer next weekend.
Hobsons Inland Sea Shanty Singers, sponsored by Hobsons Brewer and John Amos and Co, will perform at Cleobury Mortimer Sports and Social Club, on Friday, February 17, from 7.30pm.
Next Friday's performance will help to raise funds for the Friends of St Mary's Church in Cleobury Mortimer.
The singers are a group of jolly chaps from North Herefordshire who, initially inspired by the Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival, formed Europe's most inland sea shanty chorus.
The troupe has been engaging audiences with their range of shanties, ballads and other rip-roaring sea songs since September 2009.
The group sets out to provide a new form of live entertainment, encouraging people to have a good time and join in for a good old sing along and to help raise money for good causes.
Tickets are £10, and includes a fish and chip supper.
Tickets are available from Cleobury Pharmacy, Cleobury Library, Spire Hairdressing or by calling Alec Osbaldiston on 01584 891351.
