A CONCERT at Kidderminster Town Hall is set to bring together for the first time two local choirs under the direction of Alastair Elliot.

The concert on Saturday, May 20, from 7.30pm, will bring together Bewdley Choral Society and Stourport Choral Society under Alastair's direction - who leads both choral groups in their normal repertoires.

The concert fulfils a dream for Alastair, who has long wanted to combine the two groups to perform a major choral work requiring larger orchestral and vocal forces. The choirs will together assemble 100 voices, with their strengths perfectly complementing one another.

The major focus of the all-Mozart programme will be the famous Requiem, featuring local professional soloists in addition to the choirs. The highlight of the first half will be the well-known 20th Piano Concerto performed by local pianist - Angie Allard.

Tickets are £15, and are available from Bentleys of Stourport and Bewdley's St Anne's Church, or Kidderminster Town Hall on 01562 732158.
