BEWDLEY is set to be just one of six specially selected UK concert dates as part of the European tour of singer/songwriter, Chris Pureka.

Chris is set to take to the St George’s Hall stage on Friday, September 29, in the latest instalment of the Music in the Hall series.

Chris’s bold vulnerability in processing the intimacies of her life in song has long appealed to those listeners who crave authenticity.

Now, five years coming, she is touring to share with her audiences, another powerful entry in her life’s work - her sixth release, the aptly titled, Back in the Ring.

Over the years, she has earned accolades from the New York Times, Paste, Magnet, Billboard.com and the AllMusic Guide. While she’s shared the stage with artists including the Lumineers, the Cowboy Junkies and Ani DiGranco.

Along the way, Chris has remained fiercely independent, selling near 50,000 albums through her own label - Sad Rabbit Records.

Her latest album, Back in the Ring, is Chris’s first studio full length since 2010’s critically acclaimed. How I Learned to See in the Dark. The title of her latest playfully suggests something of an artistic comeback, but it also references the album’s themes of relationship conflict and making the decision to fight back against dark inner demons.

Local artist Esther Turner is set to feature on the night’s bill as the main support. While the evening opens, as usual, with a monthly youth act - Bewdley’s own Rachel Howles.

Doors open at 7.30pm.
