KIDDERMINSTER Choral Society will sing the UK premiere of new work by renowned British composer Philip Wilby at a concert this weekend.

The society will perform "Chris Mouse" at Kidderminster Town Hall on Saturday (November 25).

The new work tells the story of the nativity from the view of an onlooking mouse.

Geoff Weaver, musical director, said: "We are very excited to bring a UK premiere performance to Kidderminster Town Hall.

"We are very pleased to welcome the compose, Philip Wilby, to this special concert and the choir have been working hard to give a great performance of his new work."

Kidderminster Choral Society has a great reputation for their high quality performances of some of the best known choral works.

The programme will also feature Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" and "Winchester Te Deum" by the popular British favourite, John Rutter.

The choir will be accompanied by Sovereign Brass, as well as an organ and two pianos.

Kidderminster Choral's youth choir, Wyre Forest Young Voices, will also feature in "Chris Mouse", when their young voices will sing the part of the mouse.

A spokesman for Kidderminster Choral Society said: "This concert will be a unique experience and not to be missed by local music lovers".

The concert will start at 7.30pm.
