ACCLAIMED Nashville singer Hannah Aldridge will bring the sound of the American South to Bewdley as she headlines the ‘Music in the Hall – Severn Sessions’ on Friday (March 9).

The songwriter will serenade the audience at St George’s Hall with her passionate and defiant country music direct from the deep roots of Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

She is currently touring the UK to promote her new rock and country influenced album, ‘Gold Rush.’

According to the country singer, her music is an “introspective look” at her life, with the new album dealing with “self-destruction:”

“That is the underlying tone. The album goes back to when I was younger, and after touching on that, to now.”

Notably, Hannah is the daughter of legendary country songwriter Walt Aldridge, a prolific Alabama hall of famer whose songs have been recorded by artists such as Lou Reed.

This event is the latest instalment in the ‘Music in the Hall’ concerts, where Bewdley organisers continue to host performers from the USA, Canada and the UK.

The organisers are “extremely proud” to be welcoming Hannah to Bewdley’s enthusiastic audience, where they will be in for a night of Hannah’s personal and gothic Americana.

Support for the event comes from local duo ‘The Bug Club,’ who gave a memorable performance at last year’s ‘Hopfest,’ as well as youth artist Hannah Law.

Tickets cost £12 and are available at www.musicinthehall.co.uk, www.thehall-bewdley.org.uk, or at the hall café.

Doors open at 7.30pm.
