WITH one of its most diverse line-ups yet, Leeds Festival 2018 at Braham Park was a celebration of some of the world’s best music - and an epic party like no other.

Pop music revellers braved the rainy weather and mud over the weekend to dance and sing with their favourite bands and artists, with 200,000 punters hitting the popular annual bash.

This year featured a range of high profile acts, spanning across genres including rock, grime, hip, hop, metal and pop, delighting festival fans with memorable performances.

Rock royalty Kings of Leon performed a career spanning set, pleasing maturing indie fans and new arrivals alike. Belting out iconic festival anthems including Use Somebody, Radioactive, and the party hit Sex on Fire, the US band generated some of the weekend’s biggest singalongs.

Trap rap star Post-Malone drew an enormous crowd at the main stage for his fiery Saturday afternoon slot, keeping the audience in his palm as he performed hits Rockstar, Better Now, and Congratulations. His set was blessed by sunshine, the most of which the festival had seen all weekend.

Long-time fans of the festival and pop-punk pioneers Fall Out Boy blasted through songs from their emo roots, right up to their recent power pop in an explosive headline performance on the Saturday night, complete with pyro and confetti.

On the final day, US boy band Brockhampton proved they are one of the hottest acts in the world as they electrified the crowd at the Radio 1 stage with their eclectic hip hop sound. The troupe got their devoted fans moshing and boogying to their infectious sound, winning over the crowd in an obvious festival highlight.

The Leeds crowd later filled the main stage field to witness an empowering performance by UK pop sensation Dua Lipa. Her hit filled set, including New Rules and One Kiss, did not disappoint fans as she and her dancers delighted the audience with her moves.

US hip hop group N.E.R.D, led by Pharrell Williams, also graced the main stage as part of their reunion tour, inviting the crowd to jump and bounce to their legendary hits. Pharrell gave an inspiring performance, encouraging the crowd to party harder as he powered through the set.

Eccentric pop rock outfit Panic! At The Disco gave a theatrical performance as they co-headlined the night, with fans singing their hearts out. They paid tribute to their heroes Queen by covering their classic anthem Bohemian Rhapsody in full operatic form.

To close the weekend, the unstoppable force that is Kendrick Lemar set the festival alight with a stunning performance of high energy hip hop. The crowd hailed the rap superstar as he brushed off the pouring rain to deliver a hard-hitting set to please fans and cement his place as a world class headline act.

The weekend showcased a balance of classic acts that can still pack a punch on festival stages, and relevant new artists that reflect the current musical map. There’s no doubt the sheer variety and quality of acts will make this year's festival difficult to top.
