Kidderminster Operatic and Dramatic Society

WHAT a "feel good" show. There are some great, lively songs in his happy show, which includes the show-stopping 'Lambeth Walk'. The choreography for this, with the entire cast on the small Rose stage, was superb. Congratulations to Cheryl Skidmore.

The plot revolves around a young cockney lad who is found to be the heir of an earldom. Of course, his "posh" relatives are not happy about this.

The two young actors taking the leading roles of Bill and his girlfriend Sally, were outstanding, Ryan Donnell and Molly Parmenter are certainly names to watch out for.

Tom Palne took the part of the "wather thoppy" Gerard to perfection, while his dad, Chris, as always delighted with his portrayal of the family solicitor, who burst into song whenever possible.

Another notable performance came from Salli Hunt, she really can perform a song, such as in 'You Would If You Could'.

I was a little bit disappointed in Claire Hadland's rendition of 'Song of Hareford' as she usually sings better than she did on this occasion, but it was the first night.

Directed by John Jones, this was a charming and extremely entertaining show, even if it does contain what I consider to be one of the most annoying songs ever written - 'The Sun Has Got His Hat On'.
