REHEARSALS are in full swing for the Monday Night Group's eggs-cellent production of Humpty Dumpty to take place in Stourport.

The pantomime will run at Stourport Civic Hall from next Friday to Saturday, February 4.

The show is suitable for all ages and follows the adventures of the inhabitants of the realm of Egglantia and what happened after Humpty fell off the wall and couldn't be put back together again.

Jack, Jill, Mother Hubbard and Bonzo the dog, joined by the rest of the cast, meet a magical creature, embark on an amazing journey, and end up fighting an Evil Wizard Salmonella, who doesn't seem to like them much.

Monday Night Group members treading the boards include Wayne Clarke as Humpty Dumpty, Dave Allen as King Egbert , Sarah Colclough as Queen Egberta, Christopher Jones as Prince Yokey, Sophie Carrier as Princess Shellby and Sam Maher as panto dame Mother Hubbard.

Joining the Monday Night Group cast are dancers from the Crescents Ballet School, in Worcester, and the proceeds from the ticket sales will go to local community projects.

The Monday Night Group is a registered charity and gives all profit back to groups in Wyre Forest at their May presentation evening.

Since registering as a charity in 1981, the group has donated more than £300,000 to Wyre Forest organisations.

In May last year, the group were able to give £20,440 to local groups and charities from its Jack and the Beanstalk production and with more than 3,000 tickets already sold, the group hope it will be another good year for donations.
