A DRAMATIC telling of the story of Christ's crucifixion will be performed in Bewdley by the Riding Lights Theatre Company.
The production of Inheritance, by Bridget Foreman, will be performed on Tuesday, March 25 at St George's Hall in Bewdley.
It follows on from last year's successful outdoor performance of the Passion directed by Steve Conway.
The play hopes to evoke the community where Jesus lived, the people who knew him best, the powers that brought him to execution and casts light on some of the women who Jesus stood alongside.
Riding Lights are touring churches, cathedrals and community centres throughout March and April and hope the performance to be more than just a play.
It is also structured to give the audience has the time to reflect on the Passion and make their own response at the foot of the cross.
The narrative of Inheritance was commissioned by Margaret Sentamu and Jane Williams for a performance at the 2008 Lambeth Conference.
As well as touring passion plays, Riding Lights has partnered with regional theatres to create shows such as Murray Watts’s play African Snow, Anthony Minghella's Two Planks and a Passion and Max Frisch’s The Fire Raisers.
