THERE'S something ghostly going on at Kidderminster's Rose Theatre for the Nonentities next production.
The theatre group will be performing Henrick Ibsen's Ghosts from Monday to next Saturday.
Directed by Sue Downing, Ghosts is a scathing commentary on the hypocrisy of Victorian morality.
The plot follows Mrs Alving, who has built an orphanage to honour her dead husband.
The revelations exposed on the return of her son Oswald, combined with the priggish advice of Pastor Manders, threatens to shatter the veneer of respectability they have created for themselves.
Set in Norway towards the end of the 19th century in the grand home of the dutiful and proud Mrs Alving, the facade of family life falls slowly apart.
Ibsen wrote about topics that are still as sensitive today as they were 100 years ago including free love, prostitution, incest and euthanasia.
The play will be performed in the studio at the Rose. For more information visit rosetheatre.co.uk
