A WOLVERLEY theatre actor is returning to the UK after spending the last six months travelling parts of Asia and Europe as part of the international touring cast of Mamma Mia.

Scott Mobley is part of an ensemble that will be bringing their show to Blackpool Opera House between June 20 and September 14.

The 26-year-old said he has loved being on tour with the show but he cannot wait to spend time with his family in Wolverley.

“It’s been a great few months,” he said.

“It’s a dream situation for me as I’m getting paid to travel and see the world whilst doing something I love.”

Scott and the rest of the cast spent five months in South Korea, before setting up camp in Basel, Switzerland, for the past three weeks.

He said: “There were a lot of rehearsals when we first went out to Korea, but it has been great to get the chance to experience the local culture of the places we visited.

“Saying that it’s going to be nice to come home and see my family – mainly to have a roast dinner.”

Scott started acting in school plays whilst attending Wolverley CE Secondary. He also took dance lessons.

As time went on at school he spent less time acting and dancing and more time modelling, which led to him leaving the midlands and starting a new professional life in London.

“I moved to London when I was 18, due to my modelling, as most of the jobs I was offered involved being down there,” he said.

“I was really worried about moving away. I had no intention of going but it all happened really quickly and before I knew it I was gone.”

Whilst in London, Scott enrolled onto a foundation course at the Arts Education School to complete a three year degree.

This helped him onto the showbiz career ladder, leading to starring performances in theatres over the country.

His credits include performances in Sleeping Beauty at Nottingham Theatre Royal, Aladdin at the Wolverhampton Grand and Christmas in New York at The Lyric, Belfast.

Scott said: “I’ve loved everywhere I have performed, but Singing in the Rain at the Palace Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue was my favourite because of the feel and the history of the building.”
