ONE of Shakespeare’s classics and a play open to many interpretations comes to the Rose Theatre in Kidderminster at the end of February.
The resident company of the Rose Theatre, the Nonentities’ version of Merchant of Venice is set bang up to date during the spring festival Carnevale and combines the world of finance and banking with the frivolities of masked balls and disguises.
At times very funny, this play poses several problems, not the least of which is the whole business of Shylock himself. Is he a villain or a victim of racial prejudice?
The new and exciting interpretation of the play runs from Monday, February 23, to Saturday, February 28.
Tickets are available from the Box Office on 01562 743745 or online at www.rosetheatre.co.uk.
