BIRMINGHAM actress Helen George will star in a brand new version of psychological drama, After Miss Julie, in six performances at Malvern Theatres from Monday.
The Strictly Come Dancing and Call The Midwife star will appear in the lead role during shows from June 6 to 11 as part of a UK tour, before it is transferred to London’s West End.
Inspired by August Strindberg's 1888 tragedy, Miss Julie, Patrick Marber’s tale is set on the eve of Labour’s landslide victory in 1945 following the Second World War.
This erotic psychological thriller follows the story of the daughter of an English countryside Count.
As she wanders into the servant’s quarters of their home, she begins to flirt with her father’s chauffeur, yet game-playing soon transcends into passion with devastating consequences.
