THE tale of popular comic Charlie Chaplin will be brought to Worcestershire in a new musical.
"Chaplin – The Charlie Chaplin Story" will be shown at Malvern Theatres on Friday, June 10, with former Coronation Street actor Steven Arnold starring in the lead role.
Joining him on stage in the 'Maple Tree Entertainment' production is Emmerdale and Bad Girls actress Nicole Faraday, Helena Gullan, and a cast of six West End performers.
Growing up in poverty on the streets of Victorian London, Chaplin led a complex relationship with his mother, who was forced to put her sons into the workhouse after she was admitted to an asylum.
The heart-warming story shows the development of Chaplin’s childhood struggles to his early showbiz career, breaking into Hollywood, and his transition into a household name.
