A THEATRE group and ballet school are to join forces and take to the stage with the ‘purrfect’ antidote to the January blues.

Puss in Boots, the 51st show for the Monday Night Group, will run at the Stourport Civic Theatre between Friday (January 27) and Saturday, February 4.

The charity pantomime group have been joined by the Crescents Ballet School for a show which promises fun and laughter for the whole family. Profits from the show are donated to local groups and organisations.

Sam Maher, group chairman, said: “Our last show, Cinderella, was a great success and we were thrilled to be able to donate more than £25,000 to 90 local groups. We’re really looking forward to bringing another fantastic show to the Civic.”

Puss in Boots follows Simon, Toastie, Dame Miller and their team of bakers in their adventures to save their mill, along with their pet cat, Puss - who is a little more than meets the eye.

Can this ‘pawsome’ hero save the day and defeat Evil Weevil or will there be trouble at the mill?

Dave Allen, who plays Dame Miller, added: “I’ve been with the Monday Night Group for four years and this is my first time playing the Dame.

“I’m really looking forward to all of the audience interaction in Puss in Boots, although, I’m not sure my feet will say that after wearing size 12 heels.

“Raising money for our local community groups is why we are all here and what better way to do this than by performing in a fun, entertaining, family friendly pantomime.”

Director, Caroline Caldwell, warned that tickets are selling fast and urged those who want to attend to book tickets so they don’t miss out.

As well as evening performances, there are a number of matinees and early evening shows available.
