IT is time to brush up on your Shakespeare, as Kidderminster Operatic and Dramatic Society take to the stage with Cole Porter's classic musical - Kiss Me, Kate.

KODS will be performing the show at the Rose Theatre, in Kidderminster, between Thursday, March 9, and Saturday, March 18 - including a Saturday matinee on March 18.

Kiss Me, Kate centres around an egotistical leading man, Fred Graham - played by Julian Richards - who is reunited with his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi - played by Michelle Free - when the two are forced to play opposite one another in a new production of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew.

The battle of the sexes continues onstage and off, and throw in a case of mistaken identity, some gangsters and additional romantic entanglements into the mix - and you get this hit Broadway show.

The show features classic Cole Porter songs, including "Another Op'nin', Another Show", "Too Darn Hot" and "I Hate Men".

This production follows on from last year when KODS celebrated their centenary.

Performances start at 7.30pm, while the matinee show begins at 2.30pm.
