Mary floors rivals with fine display

MARY Anderson excelled for Wyre Forest Gymnastics School at the West Midlands Novice Competition held in Worcester.

The young gymnast won bronze after producing an impressive floor display in the 10 to 11-year-old age section.

Over 150 recreational gymnasts from across the region took part in this competition, where girls may compete on all four pieces of apparatus, but only three scores count towards the total.

Bethany Hickman finished fourth on the floor in the 10 to 11 age section, while Isobel Fox and Holly Morris, competing in their first competition, finished high up the order.

Wyre Forest results - 10-11: Bethany Hickman 25.75; Isobel Fox 25.5; Mary Anderson 25.4; Holly Morris 25.15; Emilia Sinden 24.5; Phoebe Heslop 23.6; Lucy Teeling 23.55.

Results - 12-13: Charlotte Jones 25.25; Rose Hooper 25.05; Fiona Starkie 24.95; Claire Donnelly 21.45; Emma Davies 10.8.

Classes at the school are held throughout the week for all ages and abilities. Anybody interested in joining the club should contact Ann Combes on 07801 338292.
